Its the look of bewilderment that sells the pic. (That's a 5 1/4" floppy, who remembers the 8" version? :)

Oh yes. My dad's first office computer (circa 1983) was an ancient IBM that was almost the size of my Honda Fit, and had a memory, as I recall of 40 MB. And they saved every night to the 8" floppy!

I have actually seen the mag-cards ... which are apparently older than the 8" ones.

who remembers the 8" version

We got to play with those in my computers class in elementary school. Teacher said that they were for business people who deal with lots of data, and we probably would never need to use one.
